Insight Global is looking for a Health and Safety Leader to join a large retail client on a 6-month contract. As a Health and Safety Leader, you will play a large role in the development, execution, and maintenance of the health and safety management system across the organisation. You are an experienced occupational health and safety professional with a superior knowledge of health and safety regulations. Your strong desire to partner and educate key leaders and employees will drive the continual success of the program and empower our employees to create a better work environment.

• Managing the health and safety management system including but not limited to maintaining applicable documentation, establishing performance measures and analyzing and reporting on health and safety program results and trends) and monitor and evolve it to ensure compliance with local regulation
• Supporting all people leaders and employees with health and safety questions and concerns arising from the manufacturing and warehouse floor
• Consulting with and educating the Joint Health and Safety Committee with health and safety action items, processes, and initiatives and supporting the evolution of the capability and positive impact of the committee
• Performing ergonomic assessments and job hazard assessments for risk analysis, programs/project support and safety concern mitigation
• Assisting the Health and Safety Coordinator in incident investigation, complex WorkSafe BC cases and non-work-related cases, developing corrective action and delivering KPI's
• Working collaboratively with other teams to develop and deliver HSE programs, projects and initiatives

Must Haves:

• 5+ years of Health and Safety field experience and the CRSP designation
• Well-versed in local, provincial, national and international Health and Safety regulations, including but not limited to Work Safe BC, OSHA, ASHARE, ISO and WELL building standard
• Experience liaising with applicable Health and Safety and Environmental regulatory authorities
• Experience in building and executing health and safety strategies, including health and safety management systems
• Excellent influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to obtain buy-in from multiple stakeholders
• You are an excellent problem solver with keen investigation and analytical skills and are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues to develop the right solutions
• You have other certifications in the Health and Safety field (eg: CIH, ROHT, CHSC)
• You have experience with environmental air, indoor air quality and industrial hygiene sampling and analysis

• Experience working within distribution centers and working with distribution systems and machinery for safeguarding practices
