Our client, a global mining leader, is seeking a Senior Engineer - Control Systems and Automation to join their team in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and implement sustainable automation projects in a highly integrated and innovative industrial environment.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Automation & Control Systems Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of capital projects, provide technical expertise to operations and maintenance teams, and contribute to testing and commissioning efforts. This role is part of a diverse and collaborative team, reporting to the Superintendent of Automation, Instrumentation, and Control Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain PLC and DCS programming (Allen Bradley Control Logix, PLC5, Foxboro).
• Design and implement automation systems with clear control philosophies and application strategies.
• Create user-friendly HMI interfaces and ensure effective integration of network protocols (DeviceNet, HART, TCP/IP).
• Translate P&IDs, block flow, and process flow diagrams into detailed control documentation.
• Interpret electrical diagrams and instrumentation schematics.
• Lead feasibility studies, project scope development, and engineering design for capital projects.
• Support and troubleshoot automation systems to optimize performance.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronics, Control, or Chemical Engineering.
• P.Eng. designation.
• Extensive experience in industrial automation (preferably within engineering firms or industrial plants).
• Hands-on knowledge of automation systems, controls, and industrial protocols.
• A strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
