ASPECT Structural Engineers is in search of a Director of Marketing & Communications to join our team. This role is based in Toronto, ON, or Vancouver, BC.

A BIT ABOUT THE PERSON WHO WILL EXCEL IN THIS ROLE:

As ASPECT'S Director of Marketing & Communications and member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies that support ASPECT'S goals and effectively communicate its unique value proposition. You will create strategies to drive brand awareness, craft compelling messaging, and ensure cohesive internal and external communication across all channels. The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for mentoring others, takes a collaborative approach, isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and dive into the work, and enjoys working in environments that value innovative thinking.

Your role as our Director of Marketing & Communications will include:

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Create high-quality proposals, qualifications packages, and presentations for potential clients, ensuring that they reflect ASPECT's unique value proposition and brand values.
  • Develop strategies to engage and strengthen relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders through effective communication and content strategies.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications strategies aligned with ASPECT's objectives, target markets, and industry trends.
  • Working with and mentoring a team of marketing, communications, and graphic design specialists to support ASPECT's efforts in acquiring high quality, strategically aligned work with our ideal clients.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis and customer insights to inform strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
  • Develop and create engaging and impactful content for digital, print, social, and media outlets to support marketing campaigns and enhance ASPECT's brand presence.
  • Lead the management of website and social media channels to ensure content is current and engaging and messages are integrated and aligned.
  • Develop and maintain all collateral marketing materials, including templates, libraries, project profiles and resumes.
  • With an understanding of visual and graphic design best practices, communicate a clear vision and provide creative leadership and constructive feedback.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry publications, journalists, and media outlets, securing coverage for notable projects and achievements. Manage crisis communications if/when necessary.
  • Foster effective internal communications by informing and educating the business on effective communication strategies, tools and guidelines to streamline communication and align internal and external brand voice.
  • With collaboration from the team, develop electronic newsletters, press releases, statements, and public relations communications.
  • Establish KPI's and metrics to track the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and analyze and share insights with senior leadership team.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to support strategic marketing and communication efforts.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Communications, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in related role(s)
  • Proven track record of success in marketing, communications, and leadership roles within the AEC industry.
  • Knowledge of the structural engineering industry, including trends and regulations.
  • Knowledge of key industry players and established working relationships with firms in our local markets would be an asset.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing techniques, including SEO, SEM, social media marketing, content marketing, and email campaigns.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate engineering concepts in an accessible and compelling way for various audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, as well as familiarity with project management software.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and execute data-driven marketing strategies and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with internal teams, clients, and industry stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing platforms, CRM systems, and marketing analytics tools.
  • Proficiency with marketing software (e.g., CRM, CMS, Google Analytics, Adobe InDesign) and familiarity with engineering design software or technical terminology is a plus.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

  • Base Salary CAD $120,000 - $140,000 (will be commensurate with skillset and experience).
