Position: Network Security Engineer

Location: Downtown Toronto (Hybrid)

Job Type: Permanent, full-time

We are seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer to join our client's team and ensure the safety and integrity of the organization's network infrastructure. As a Network Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures that protect systems and data from security breaches and cyber threats.

Responsibilities:

- Design and implement security measures, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and WAFs, to protect network infrastructure.

- Review and enhance network architecture to meet security standards and best practices.

- Monitor network traffic for unusual or suspicious activities, identify potential security threats, and respond to security incidents.

- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks in the network.

- Work closely with IT teams to provide guidance on security requirements and integrate security into network projects and initiatives.

Requirements:

- Proficiency with network security tools, including firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, VPNs, and network monitoring tools.

- Experience in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, IPsec) and implementing security solutions for routers, switches, and other network devices.

- Experience with automation scripting (Python, PowerShell) is a plus.

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to detect and respond to network security incidents

- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CCNP Security, or similar are highly desirable.
