Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Storage Administrator with proven experience in enterprise storage management, specifically supporting IBM Z mainframe environments. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of inter-site replication using GDPS (Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex) and Copy Services Manager (CSM). You will play a key role in ensuring high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and performance optimization of mainframe storage systems across multiple data centers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and support enterprise mainframe storage systems (IBM DS8000 series or equivalent).
• Manage and maintain GDPS-based inter-site replication to ensure data integrity and seamless disaster recovery capabilities.
• Configure and manage IBM Copy Services Manager (CSM) for advanced storage automation, remote mirroring, and consistency group operations.
• Perform day-to-day storage operations, including provisioning, allocation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with z/OS Systems Programmers, DBAs, and Application Teams to support complex system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
• Monitor and report on storage usage and trends to ensure optimal capacity planning and resource utilization.
• Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery testing, audits, and compliance activities.
• Document storage configurations, procedures, and operational runbooks in accordance with organizational standards.

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in mainframe storage administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with GDPS (HyperSwap, Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, XRC) in a production environment.
• Expertise with IBM Copy Services Manager (CSM) for managing data replication and consistency across storage systems.
• In-depth knowledge of IBM DS8000, FICON, z/OS, and associated storage management tools (DFSMS, TSO/ISPF, etc.).
• Experience in planning and executing Disaster Recovery (DR) scenarios involving replication technologies.
• Familiarity with performance monitoring tools (OMEGAMON, RMF, etc.) and storage-related SMF records.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of z/VM, zLinux, or z/OSMF.
• Experience with automation scripting (REXX, JCL, or similar).
• Previous experience in regulated industries (e.g., banking, insurance, government).
• IBM or vendor-specific certifications in mainframe storage or GDPS technologies.
