Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Project Manager located in Markham, ON. The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of construction projects, managing project schedules, coordinating with subcontractors, conducting inspections, overseeing logistics, and expediting processes. The role also involves ensuring project compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. This position reports to the Project Manager.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Project Management and expediting tasks to meet schedules
- Experience with Project Management software
- Experience with 3D modelling software and Auto CAD
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, details and specifications
- Skills in Logistics Management and Project Reports
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work on-site in Markham, ON
- Honours Bachelor of Technology (Construction Management), Engineering, or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience in the structural steel construction industry.
- Minimum of 2-3 years in Project Management or structural steel construction
Responsibilities:
- Supporting project documentation and record-keeping
- Assisting in scheduling and timeline management
- Coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders
- Monitoring project progress and reporting updates to the project manager
- Help track budgets and manage costs
- Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations
- Preparing presentations or reports for project reviews
- Attending meetings
- Fostering communication between different teams (e.g., architects, engineers, and site workers).
- Risk assessment and troubleshooting issues that arise during the construction process.
