We are looking for an experienced and motivated Sales Manager to join our growing team. This role will be a permanent, full-time position representing the GTA territory and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will manage a sales team, increase profitability by promoting products, creating value, and providing product support, within this assigned territory.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 11 direct reports "Territory Sales Representatives" who manage multiple distinct regions both within the GTA and outside GTA. North to Sudbury, West to Windsor, East to Kingston, South to Niagara Falls and all of the GTA.
- The right attitude is the most important aspect we are looking for. Someone who is driven to succeed and knows how to motivate a team to deliver results.
- Drives sales activity through reps via management, coaching, setting objectives based on analysis, and tracking of operational metrics.
- Overnight travel is required to effectively manage this team and territory - up to 40% initially and then less over time as role and presence is established.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow market presence across the Territory
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across various sectors
- Promote company products and services, highlighting features, advantages, and value to clients
- Deliver effective sales presentations and prepare quotes, proposals, and contracts
- Participate in setting territory goals and regularly update sales forecasts and territory plans
- Resolving customer concerns quickly and effectively, acting as the main point of contact
- Stay current with product knowledge, market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments
- Collaborate closely with internal departments (operations, credit, logistics, etc.) to ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain accurate records and provide timely reports on sales activities
Qualifications:
- Qualified candidates will ideally come with Sales and Sales Management experience from the B2B product sales - ideally industrial components, building materials, or construction related with a technical element or understanding.
- The successful candidate must possess the ability to mentor and drive the team and sales.
- Proven track record in developing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Proficiency in the full sales cycle including prospecting, quoting, negotiation, and closing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to manage a sales team.
- Strong computer skills including CRM platforms and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Must possess a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for regular travel within the region.
- Willingness to travel with sales reps for client presentations
