We are hiring a Quality Control Coordinator for our Food Manufacturing client. This is an exciting position that's ideal for a highly analytical, detail oriented, data driven individual. The position is critical to the Operations and overall industry. We are seeking an individual who can bring a high level of analytical and critical thinking, with a personable communication style, as this role works directly with customers. 5+ years of experience in a QC position, ideally in food manufacturing and a degree in agriculture, food science or related field is required. This is a unionized role, fully in office, and will require a reliable vehicle and valid Driver's License.

About The OpportunityThe Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the collection and testing of daily quality results, ensuring the accuracy of this data for timely reporting to producers. This role involves collaboration with industry partners to address quality issues and also serves as the primary backup for transportation coordination, including after-hours support for pickup and delivery.
About The Position
- Coordinate collection and testing of daily quality results for producers and other required samples.
- Validate and process sample data per regulations and upload to IT systems.
- Manage and update computerized systems for quality program reporting.
- Summarize and report quality data to management.
- Coordinate handling of non-qualifying products, including disposal and notifications.
- Evaluate effectiveness of quality programs and report findings.
- Recommend improvements to quality programs.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues with industry stakeholders in line with regulations.
- Provide research and background information for management as needed.
- Offer backup support in related operational areas
- Track raw material inventories and maintain accurate records of transactions, changes, and incidents.
- Respond to producer and stakeholder inquiries on dairy-related topics, including quality, testing, pricing, and equipment.
- Prepare reports and maintain communication with government, labs, and industry partners.
- Develop communications, coordinate lab results, and address complaints from producers and processors.
- Acts as back-up Transportation Coordinator and provides support when necessary.
- This role may require evenings and after-hours support in case of emergency.
- This position will require travel to laboratories and producers.
The Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture, animal science, food science, or a related field.
- Formal training or practical experience with HACCP principles.
- 5-7 years of experience in laboratory testing or farm advisory services.
- Knowledge of microbiology, biology, chemistry, and statistics.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting technical data.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Must have strong communication skills and be able to interact with customers directly via email, and phone daily.
- Demonstrated ability to research and investigate and effectively communicate findings.
- Ability to explain complex technical information to producers and stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and record accuracy.
- Strong coordination and follow-through.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle are required.
- Must be able to provide supervisory references, pass multiple background checks and education verifications.
