We are currently supporting a well-established and reputable mortgage investment firm located in the Lower Mainland area in their search for a Senior Underwriter. This is a full time permanent position. The role works closely with senior leadership, including the Director and Portfolio Manager.

This position will be based fully in office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct preliminary screening and due diligence of new commercial mortgage opportunities
• Liaise with brokers and borrowers to gather additional underwriting information
• Review third-party reports (e.g., appraisals, environmental and building condition assessments)
• Prepare concise investment summaries for internal review
• Support deal structuring and the closing process for new mortgage investments
• Maintain organized loan and security documentation
• Develop and expand the mortgage referral network and deal pipeline

Ideal Candidate:

• 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate lending or mortgage underwriting
• Deep understanding of loan structuring and mortgage security across multiple asset classes (industrial, multi-residential, land, retail, hospitality)
• Proficient in financial modeling and analysis
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Proven ability to assess risk, communicate clearly, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, professional environment
