Katoen Natie's Maintenance Technician is responsible for the planned maintenance and repair of all rolling equipment and facility/infrastructure of two separate site locations. This individual must possess a thorough knowledge of installation, maintenance, repair, and alignment of industrial machinery. The ideal candidate is comfortable with a flexible working schedule including the ability to be on-call until 10PM and available on weekends.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in Equipment Maintenance or Trade ticket in Millwright, Electrician, Welding, or equivalent.
  • Two years in a similar or equivalent maintenance environment. Additional related experience may compensate for a non-related post-secondary diploma. Packaging/conveying preferred but not required.
  • Wear personal protection Equipment (PPE) and follow/execute all safety procedures/rules as outlined in the KTN Safety Manual and OSHA regulations.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Mathematical skills: ability to perform all basic calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Physical demands: must be able to lift 25KG.
  • Work environment: in- and outdoor (extreme weather conditions).
  • Must have a high standard for quality.
  • Punctuality is a must; be on time and ready to work at the start of shift.
  • Must be able to work in a close team environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and equipment.
  • Must be able to perform assigned task in a sometimes-high stress and fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to work other than normal scheduled hours, may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays in accordance to the needs of the business.
  • Ability to perform assigned work tasks with little to no supervision.
  • On-call with the ability to attend to the site after hours (3:30PM to 10:00PM)

Responsibilities

  • Commit to supply our customers with products and services which will meet or exceed their expectations.
  • Commit to continuously improve quality and productivity.
  • Directly responsible for the preventative and required maintenance of all plant, production, shipping and rolling stock equipment.
  • Directly responsible for maintaining adequate spare parts inventory for the following equipment including but not limited to FFS/Valve bagger, boxing line, FIBC line, grinding equipment, etc.
  • Directly responsible for the completing of all specified inspections and maintenance as defined in the company Quality procedures manual under site Policy SP-0206 and Maintenance MT-0001 to 0601 where applicable.
  • Signing authority on contractors work orders.
  • Directly responsible to perform the duties assigned and maintain a safe and clean work environment through the use of accepted and commonly used safety practices including but not limited to Lock-out, Hot-Work Permit and Clean-Sweep Procedures.
  • Responsible for the supervision of outside contractors while on site.
  • Coordinates all corrective repairs/maintenance & PM with the Production Supervisor and CSR Supervisor to ensure production deadlines & productivity targets/goals are not adversely affected.
  • Performs duties under the general supervision of the Production Supervisor keeping him/her advised of work status.
  • Responsible for the full knowledge of the facility emergency procedures.
  • Adhere to all KTN work and safety rules.
