POSITION OVERVIEW

As an HR Client Partner, you will advise, coach, and support management personnel in the

management of human resources related operations, including but not limited to: employee and

labour relations issues, interpretation of various employment/legal documentation, creation and

delivery of training/development material, cross functional HR team support,

recruitment/selection process, attendance and return to work matters, including Duty to

Accommodate, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee & Labour Relations: Coach and support management with respect to grievance

processes, investigations, layoff and recall processes, and other employee related issues

involving performance, disciplinary action, and attendance management.

Stakeholders' Engagement: Work as a strategic partner to multi-level stakeholder groups in

order to ensure that organizational initiatives are supported through liaising with unions and

other HR teams to exchange information and process updates from a labor relations

standpoint.

HR Policy Education and Training: Develop and present education and training on Human

Resources related topics, such as: Employee Relations/ Labour Relations Collective Agreement

Interpretation; New Managers Orientation; New/Revised HRCP programs/initiatives.

Project Management: Complete relevant documentations; Identify, develop and implement

special projects and initiatives to continuously improve the organization's capacity to deliver on

HR/labor relations initiatives.

Process/Practice Improvement: Monitor emerging labor/employee relations issues/trends

and identify opportunities for process improvement across the organization.

What You Bring to the Table:

Education: Completion of Baccalaureate degree in a related discipline or a recognized Human

Resource Management Certificate (equivalencies may be considered).

Experience: Minimum one (1) to three (3) years Labour Relations experience specifically

supporting a unionized environment is required. Solid understanding of collective agreements,

and related legislation.

Skills: Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and listening skills. Discretion,

Diplomacy and Tact. Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and group facilitation skills.

Efficient and effective investigation, analysis, problem solving, organizational and time

management skills.

Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook and internet

software application.

Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: You excel at strategic relationship building and are able

to leverage professional connections to deliver on the different areas of work that contribute to

the vision of the organization.

Collaboration & Communication: Understand the relational dynamics between your team

and other cross functional teams within the organization. Work closely with HR, leadership,

department heads and other stakeholder groups to ensure a unified approach to administering

HR/labor relations legislations, culture-building, and healthcare service delivery.

Passion: A genuine commitment to improving the healthcare experience for both employees

and patients as well as a knack for leading HR/labor relations initiatives within a complex, multi-unionized organization.

Business Acumen and Resilience: You understand healthcare and business! You have the

skills to keep your eyes on the goal while effectively juggling multiple balls on both hands!
