Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Materials Planner to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless flow of materials between suppliers and our production operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing planning and supplier coordination, with a keen eye for detail and a collaborative mindset.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred.
- APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a strong asset.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or OEM environment.
- Strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with IATF/ISO quality standards.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid Ontario driver's license and the ability to travel to the U.S. as needed.
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track the movement of materials between direct and subcontracted suppliers.
- Plan and manage supplier releases to align with production schedules and delivery timelines.
- Issue accurate and complete purchase orders, ensuring all required documentation is included.
- Maintain and update ERP systems for real-time tracking and follow-up of orders and receipts.
- Monitor product transfers and internal logistics to support operational efficiency.
- Support and maintain departmental KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements.
- Manage supplier delivery performance and update delivery rating scorecards.
- Utilize historical sales and shipment data for accurate material planning.
- Ensure all materials comply with relevant government regulations and compliance standards.
- Promote and adhere to Occupational Health & Safety regulations and internal safety protocols.
