Description:
Reporting to the Team Lead, SCM Upstream Lloydminster, the successful candidate will provide day-to-day material buying support for LTCHO Maintenance and Project teams.

The Non-Stock Material buyer role is responsible for:
1. Create & Maintain RFQ's to obtain price & delivery information for Maintenance and Project Non-Stock Material requirements
2. Conduct RFQ's for Project Bulk Buying material requirements
3. Expedite material orders
4. Resolve Purchase Requisition/Purchase Order issues
5. Support business unit & vendor requirements
Core responsibilities of role
• Create & Maintain RFQ's for Non-Stock material purchases to support Lloydminster Maintenance & Project teams with their material buying requirements
• Negotiate commercial rates with suppliers
• Expedite material orders with suppliers to ensure material is delivered in time to meet requirements date
Regarding working with Pos, contracts, supplier onboarding, SAP MM configuration
• PO's - This role is focused on the RFQ step of the P2P process. The PO's themselves are issued by the SSC in Calgary. There would be a working relationship between this role and the SSC buyer who issues the PO's, but this role would not be involved in PO creation / PO transmission, etc.
• Contracts - This role would not be responsible for supplier contract management. We do have resources in our team who manage material agreements so again there would be some level of interaction at times between the individual in this role and material contract owners, but this role would not be hands on involved in contract management.
• Supplier Onboarding - This role may be required to initiate supplier onboarding (ie Submit service ticket to have supplier go through enrollment for addition to Cenovus AML / ABL, but this role is not responsible to complete the supplier onboarding process).
• SAP MM Configuration - This role is focused on Non-Stock material buying; however, the individual in this role would be responsible to search the existing SAP MM database to determine if an MM already exists in SAP which could be used in lieu of sourcing via free text. Our team would deliver training to the individual on how to search for MM's by part number, material description, specs, etc.
Required Skills
• Experience in material buying would be a definite asset
• SAP Experience in Supply Chain transactions would be an asset
• Multi-Tasking - The role will require the individual to be able to multi-task, at times there will be overlapping workloads / deadlines that need to be balanced
• Communication - Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Negotiation Skills - Experience with supplier commercial negotiations would be an asset
Qualifications
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Post Secondary Certificate/Diploma
Minimum of two years Supply Chain experience
In addition to the above qualifications the following qualifications would be considered and asset:
Supply Chain Management certification
Experience in SAP MM (Materials Management)
Knowledge of Procure to Pay (P2P) lifecycle
Local to the Lloydminster area is preferred.
