General Manager - Information Technology Services

Tech Masters Inc. is searching for a dynamic, self motivated professional with extensive experience in leading a small business delivering information technology (IT) solutions to a wide variety of clients. This is a hands-on leadership role where the successful applicant will help structure the business and service offerings. A proactive approach to providing top notch customer service is a must.

Strong leadership, communication and project management skills are essential. The successful applicant will be proficient in delivering IT solutions focused on managed services, hosting, servers, data backups, networking, consulting and support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business
  • Develop strategies: Create and implement plans to meet the requirements of clients and help the company grow
  • Manage budgets: Create and manage budgets to ensure financial targets are met, plan for hardware and software requirements
  • Manage people: Hire, train, and evaluate employees, manage priorities & activities of employees to ensure they are working productively
  • Manage finances: Analyze financial data, participate in budgeting process and track performance, and identify areas for improvement, manage expenses and drive revenue growth
  • Manage client relationships: Act as primary contact for clients to manage customer relationship and to understand requirements and adapt business to suit changing requirements, complete all billings
  • Specify & sell hardware & software: Work with clients to determine hardware & software requirements and sell solutions
  • Manage technical infrastructure: Ensure company has required hardware, software and processes in place
  • Set policies: Create and implement policies and processes
  • Ensure compliance: Make sure the business follows regulations including health & safety requirements
  • Provide solutions: Find solutions to problems and generate reports
  • Research growth opportunities: Identify areas where the business can meet the current and future needs of clients which will deliver future growth
  • Provide reporting: Provide regular reporting to clients, ownership and other stakeholders as required

Reporting

Report directly to the business owner

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar role
  • Experience in information technology environment
  • Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • BSc/BA or Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or similar educational background is a plus
