Telecon is looking for Directional Drill Locator to join our growing Civil Team in Bruce County ON.

Working under the direction of the Supervisor, the Directional Drill Locator will operate a directional drilling locator to guide the drill safely underground.

This is a full-time position which includes weekly pay, Benefits, 401K as well as opportunities for growth!

YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO :
Load and unload directional drill equipment in a manner that is secure and damage free
Operate the drill head locator safely and ensure best drilling practices
Transport associated tools, materials and/or equipment in a safe manner
Complete Driver's logbook & daily vehicle inspection (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, accident, or incident reports
Complete a daily inspection on equipment prior to commencing work
Prepare the drill fluid based on site conditions prior to boring commencing
In conjunction with locator, operate the directional drill using the selected bore heads and back reamers to place cables and/or duct
Trouble shoot any equipment issues and relay to service technician for assistance or resolution
Able to operate the drill locater as required
Other duties as required

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
Minimum G license with a clean abstract
Must have 1-3 years previous drill locating experience and working around existing buried utilities
Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
Must be able to lift 23 kg (50 lbs.)
Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) and criminal check prior to employment commencing
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable Health and Safety as per job requirements
