Role Description

This is a full-time role for an Instructor Therapist/Teacher, at Second Nature School in Ottawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering individualized therapeutic and educational programs to children who could benefit from individualized support. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of instructors and practitioners, creating strong attachment relationships with children, designing lesson plans, monitoring and documenting progress, and working closely with families and other specialist practitioners.

You are a passionate go-getter who is creative and enjoys thinking outside the box! You enjoy spending time with children, have a sense of humor, and are an advocate for accessible education! Bonus points if you have a background in nature or forest school, or just love the outdoors!

Qualifications

• Experience and skills in individualized therapeutic and educational program delivery.
• Strong background in mental health counselling and education services.
• Ability to develop and implement lesson plans.
• Excellent progress monitoring and documentation skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with families.
• Experience with attachment-focused approaches and nature-based interventions is a plus.
• Relevant certifications or degrees in mental health, education, or related fields.
