Overview

Buchanan Technologies is seeking Jr. IT Asset Management (ITAM) Analyst for assignment to our client.

The successful resource will our client's ITAM operations, ensuring efficient asset lifecycle management, compliance with policies, and optimization of IT Assets. This role is 100% on-site from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

IT Asset Lifecycle Management

• Process and fulfill IT asset requests, incidents, and RFQs.
• Procure, receive, track, and manage all IT hardware and software assets.
• Coordinate with procurement, finance, IT operations, and security teams to maintain efficient asset lifecycle management.
• Assist with hardware and software contract renewals and maintenance.
• Maintain an accurate centralized IT asset inventory, ensuring compliance with ITAM HAM & SAM policies.
• Manage warranties, service contracts, and software licensing.
• Conduct periodic audits and inventory checks to ensure compliance with governance standards.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze asset data to identify trends, optimize utilization, and support procurement decisions.
• Develop reports and dashboards to provide insights into inventory, usage trends, and cost analysis.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making based on asset data.

Platform & Process Management

• Work within ServiceNow ITAM and ITSM modules (Hardware Asset Workspace, Service Operations Workspace, Asset & CMDB tables, and Software Asset Workspace).
• Utilize ServiceNow's out-of-the-box (OOTB) workflows for IT Asset Management (Asset Refresh, RMA, Disposal, Inventory Stock Order, etc.).
• Identify process gaps and automation opportunities to enhance asset management workflows.

Required Experience & Skills

ITAM & ITSM Expertise

• 3+ years of experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM), including procurement, HAM, SAM, and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of ITAM governance, policies, and compliance standards.
• Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM), including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.

Technical Skills

• 3+ years of experience using ServiceNow ITSM and ITAM modules.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Hardware Asset Workspace, Service Operations Workspace, and CMDB relationships.
• Ability to generate dashboards and reports to optimize asset utilization.
• Experience with asset data from tools such as Microsoft SCCM, Intune, WorkspaceOne, ServiceNow Discovery, and vendor data
• Experience with documenting workflows and process gap analysis (Microsoft Visio)

Qualifications

• IAITAM ITAM Certification - one or more of CHAMP, CSAM, CITAM, or equivalent.
• ITIL Foundation Certification.
• Knowledge of the ITIL framework for IT Service Management.
