Asset Management Intern

Capstone Infrastructure Corporation (Capstone) is an independent, pure-play power producer focused on providing clean, renewable energy to homes and businesses across North America. Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Capstone currently develops, owns, and operates thermal and renewable power generation facilities totaling around 885 MW of installed capacity across 35 facilities.

Capstone Infrastructure Corporation is seeking an Intern, Renewable Asset Analyst, to work with the operations & asset management teams. This role will report to the Vice President, Asset Management. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the power generation sector, and particularly in renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

Operational Excellence & Business Process Support

  • Assist in the rollout and implementation of Capstone's Operational Excellence Management System (COEMS), including key workflows such as Management of Change and Contractual Obligation tracking.
  • Support the organization and maintenance of critical project documentation via SharePoint.
  • Help develop business processes, trackers, and document control tools (e.g., naming conventions) to enhance team efficiency.

Contract & Commercial Management

  • Lead task creation and organization within Capstones contractual obligations management platform (Affinitext).
  • Learn the structure of renewable energy contracts and assist in ad-hoc research and analysis to support negotiations and decision-making.
  • Participate in special projects supporting strategic business decisions.
  • Assist in OPEX and CAPEX budget reviews and simple financial model development.

Data Analytics & Performance Tracking

  • Collaborate with the Performance Engineering team on data analysis for operational sites.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of power performance optimization opportunities and other business improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, Law, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in renewable energy and power generation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Excellent communication, research, and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
  • Positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude.
