Financial Analyst Consultant - Corporate Reporting
Our Calgary-based client is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial analysis for the corporate functions and support departments and lead quarterly forecasting and the annual budget/5-year plan for site departments allocated to the role. This is a 3-month contract role to start with potential for extension.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:

  • Prepare monthly departmental cost review meetings, including detailed cost variance analysis
  • Maintain costing in SAP for the month end close, including preparing journal entries for cost allocations, accruals, prepaid entries, down payments, etc.
  • Maintain fixed asset register in SAP and manage accounting and analysis for capital projects
  • Prepare continuities and support schedules for financial reporting
  • Prepare accounting entries or memos for complex accounting issues if required
  • Support departments in preparing budgets and forecasts including presentations and training on financial topics
  • Work with assigned area managers to record and monitor cost and spending
  • Prepare period-end internal controls and reconciliations
  • ADHOC projects as required
  • Your strengths include:

  • Bachelor's degree with focus on accounting/business/finance
  • Professional designation, (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in preparing budgets, forecasts and analyses
  • Experience with SAP is preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and a high-pressure environment.
