About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Estimator who thrives in a collaborative, detail-driven environment and is passionate about preconstruction excellence. In this role, you'll lead the estimating process on high-value construction projects, from initial take-off through bid submission, helping shape winning proposals and profitable project execution.
You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, clients, and suppliers to develop accurate cost estimates and build long-term relationships that support our company's growth and reputation for delivering on budget and on time.
What You'll Do
- Lead the preparation of accurate quantity take-offs, pricing, and bid submissions for multi-family, commercial, and mixed-use construction projects.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine the full scope of work.
- Develop project cost breakdowns and coordinate trade pricing to ensure full coverage of project scopes.
- Build and maintain tender schedules and ensure alignment between project timelines, trade deliverables, and bid closing dates.
- Manage communications with subcontractors and suppliers to gather competitive pricing, resolve scope clarifications, and level bids.
- Collaborate with Project Management and Site teams to ensure continuity between preconstruction and execution.
- Evaluate risks, constructability issues, and cost-saving alternatives.
- Contribute to strategic bid decisions and prepare presentation-ready estimates for executive review.
- Maintain and refine internal estimating systems, historical cost databases, and subcontractor databases.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of experience in estimating with a proven track record in multi-family residential, ground-up commercial, and tenant improvement projects.
- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides) or Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with construction modeling tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM software is an asset.
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices (LEED, Passive House) is a plus.
