Our client, an Energy company, is seeking a Startup Sr. Field Technician to work on a contract role until Sept 2025 in Kitimat, BC, on a 2 weeks on/1 week off schedule. Camp is provided. Shift schedule (12 hour day/night) - some extended hours may be required during peak startup activities.
Responsibilities:
- Partake in startup and ramp up activities as assigned while working with the Asset Production Technicans:
- Perfom Ready For Startup System (RFSU) walks, carrying out accurate punch lists
- Perform initial conditions systems lineups and ensure system lineup paperwork is kept up to date
- Carryout startup procedures and ensure deviations are handled through company policy
- Ensure status of assigned activities is clearly handed over from shift to shift and the end of shift log is entered
- Assist the Production Team Lead (PTL) in planning field activities associated with start up and ramp up:
- Shift assignments
- ICC development and verification
- PTW requirements
- Coach and mentor local staff related to Startup Ramp Up, Turnarounds, and common failure mechanisms
- Use their extensive experience to assist the PTL and Production Specialist in troubleshooting unit and plant production issues
Skills & Requirements:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada for anyone other than current employer
- Must have 10+ years of process operations experience in LNG, Gas Plant, Refinery, or Petrochemical. LNG experience would be preferable
- Previous commissioning and start up experience.
- Possess excellent communication and influencing skills
- Possess a strong commitment to working safely and adhering to safe work practices
- Possess the ability to adapt to change and be flexible with changing priorities/business needs
- Possess strong collaboration skills allowing you to build a strong and positive relationship with team members with diverse skillsets and personalities
- Demonstrate proven troubleshooting and problem solving skills with the ability to make timely decisions associated with process upsets
- Willingness and ability to train team mates and peers
Dimensions:
- Some overtime and afterhours coverage required
- Shift work required (nights, weekends, holidays) and be on-call to respond to emergencies when required
- Willing and able to work outdoors in inclement weather
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks including climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces
- Using safe lifting techniques, able to lift and carry 23 kg from ground to waist level
