Position Purpose:

This role involves sourcing and purchasing goods and services in line with departmental budgets. It includes close control of purchasing budgets, negotiation with suppliers, ensuring timely deliveries, and preparing ongoing reports for cost transparency.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Forecasting, planning, and accurately assessing needs for goods and services to manage stock levels and budgets
  • Preparing procurement-related reports
  • Liaising and following up with suppliers on delivery schedules
  • Networking and negotiating with suppliers for cost efficiency and researching new vendors
  • Managing the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and reviewing tenders
  • Monitoring and analyzing market trends

Knowledge & Experience:

Must-have:

  • 2-4 years of experience in procurement, including planning, organizing, budgeting, and decision-making
  • University degree in logistics, business administration, purchasing, or supply chain management
  • Strong market awareness

Nice-to-have:

  • Procurement-related certifications
  • Finance and budgeting experience
  • Experience working in a financial institution

Additional Responsibilities:

This position also involves the evaluation, development, negotiation, and drafting of third-party contracts for purchasing goods and services. The role requires collaboration with internal business partners and negotiations with suppliers, focusing on preparing contractual documents such as MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, Transaction Agreements, and Amendment Letters.

  • Drafting contractual agreements using company templates
  • Analyzing contracts for compliance with internal policies
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external vendors
  • Negotiating to secure favorable terms and pricing

Additional Knowledge & Experience:

Must-have:

  • 2-4 years of experience with contracting practices and business decision-making in a Contract Specialist role
  • Post-secondary education in logistics, business administration, law, or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of the market

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience or certification in Contract Management, Procurement, or Legal areas
  • Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management tools (e.g., iValua, Coupa, Ariba)
  • Finance and budgeting skills
  • Background in financial institutions
  • Experience with Professional Services and IT Services
