CI Investment Services Inc. ("CIIS") is a leading custodian providing innovative financial solutions to Introducing Brokers and Portfolio Managers. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Associate of Financial Operations to join our dynamic CI Wealth Operations team. The Senior Associate of Financial Operations will play a critical role in overseeing and processing commissions, interest, and fees for Introducing Broker and Portfolio Manager clients. This position requires a high level of accuracy, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex financial transactions in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless operations, maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards, and provide exceptional support to internal teams and clients.
What You Will Do:
- Commission Processing: Accurately calculate, process, and reconcile commissions for clients based on agreed-upon schedules and contracts.
- Interest Calculations: Compute and distribute interest payments or accruals for client accounts, ensuring alignment with custodial agreements and market rates.
- Fee Management: Administer and process various fees, including custodial, transaction, and advisory fees, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and collections.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of financial transactions to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Data Integrity: Maintain and update financial records in internal systems, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
- Client Support: Collaborate with Client Experience teams to address Portfolio Manager and Introducing Broker inquiries related to commissions, interest, and fees, providing clear and professional communication. Ensure inquiries are addressed within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Compliance: Ensure all processes adhere to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal controls.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on commission, interest, and fee activities for management, clients, and auditors, as needed.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial operations processes, enhance efficiency, and implement best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Compliance, Client Experience, and other Shared Services teams to support audits, resolve issues, and ensure operational excellence.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial operations, preferably in a custodial, brokerage, or wealth management environment.
- Strong understanding of commissions, interest calculations, and fee structures in the financial services industry.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.) and familiarity with data analysis tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Portfolio Managers and Introducing Brokers.
- Familiarity with custodial operations and client account management.
- Ability to adapt to evolving processes and implement new technologies to improve efficiency.
