Location: Aurora Home, Vanderhoof, BC
Hours of Work: 35 hoursper week average, 4 days on 4 days off 7:30 am to 6:00pm, with some evening and weekend work as required. On-Call: Typically, each manager is scheduled on-call , once every 8 or 9 weeks.

Job Summary
The Nurse and Resident Care Manager provides supervision to frontline staff who work at Aurora Home our licensed long term care facility for adults with low to moderate dementia. The goal is to assist the individuals to maintain their cognitive capacity and independence for as long as they possibly can, before requiring more complex level of care home.
Resident Care Program Manager responsibilities: This is in the realms of service delivery, administration, staffing decisions such as hiring, assigning duties and responsibilities, providing encouragement, conflict resolution and discipline. The Manager reviews work performance, supervises case management and consultations. The Manager is responsible to ensure employees have appropriate training and continuing competency and is further responsible to ensure all programs are meeting desired outcomes and budgetary goals. Schedules Auroa Home staff based on 24-hour care for residential clients. They will manage, plan, coordinate, and evaluate resident care program/services and is responsible for employee development and management. In addition to technical nursing expertise, we need a strong leader to support a multidisciplinary team in ensuring a safe environment for both residents and staff through the effective delivery of medical and nursing programs and services.
Nursing responsibilities: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for the work assignments at Aurora home at Parkview Place in the dementia care program accordance with the competency guidelines within the Professional Standards outlined by the BC College of Nurses current legislative scope of practice. This includes the pro motion, maintenance and restoration of health of clients and prevention, treatment and palliation of illness and injury. The position provides nursing care to residents with mental and/or physical, behavioural, medical and other needs as well as program management oversite. Ensures a safe environment for both residents and staff through the effective delivery of dementia residential care services and supports.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, plus registration with the appropriate provincial licensing body.
Current Registration with the BC College of Nurses & Midwives.
Two years of recent related experience in nursing and;
Two years of recent related experience in management or supervision, with demonstrated teamwork, leadership, and supervisory skills or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Intermediate Computer Skills (understanding of scheduling, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases)
The ability to function independently, and frequently under pressure, while managing deadlines, including participating in, resolving, and effectively managing stressful and emergency/crisis situations is an ongoing expectation.
Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with other professionals in the agency and in the community.
Must be sensitive to and respectful of cultural differences, differences in socio-economic status and lifestyle diversity. Must be non-judgmental.
Knowledge of relevant socio-historical events relevant to Indigenous culture.

Must meet immunization requirements in accordance with Ministry of Health and employer policies, and when directed by a medical health officer.
