We at TopHat HR, on behalf of one of our clients, are looking for a sharp, business-minded General Counsel to join their fast-moving group of companies across diverse industries. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with CEO and leadership teams, helping shape legal strategy and structure across multiple growing businesses.

If you've been the legal brain behind a startup or worked in-house navigating the day-to-day (and big picture) legal needs of scaling teams - we'd love to connect.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Acting as a strategic legal advisor across a group of dynamic businesses.
  • Partnering closely with founders and executives on legal frameworks that support growth and scalability.
  • Overseeing governance, compliance, and risk while staying practical and solutions-oriented.
  • Helping shape internal legal systems, policies, and best practices.
  • Liaising with external counsel when needed - but staying hands-on with most legal matters.
  • Staying ahead of legal and regulatory updates that impact our industries.

What We're Looking For:

  • 2-4 years of legal experience, preferably in-house at startups or tech-driven companies.
  • Solid understanding of corporate law, compliance, and working across multiple business units.
  • Someone who thinks like a founder: practical, fast, and strategic.
  • Excellent communication and judgment - you know how to balance legal risk with business goals.
  • Comfortable working independently and directly with CEO and senior leaders.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and highly adaptable to change.
