Join our team as a Lab Technician and work on exciting projects in the petrochemical industry. This is a full-time contract position with a duration of one year, located in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada.

Role Overview

  • Conduct quality control testing on process samples and finished products (Oil, Water, Gas samples).
  • Utilize various types of lab instrumentation such as IC, ICP, GC, Distillation Apparatus, KF titrators, and hand titrators for sample analysis.
  • Maintain a neat and organized laboratory, including stock of supplies and general cleaning of equipment and work area.
  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance and calibration on lab instrumentation.
  • Efficiently and accurately capture and report data.
  • Follow and maintain all laboratory procedures.
  • Comply with all HS&E requirements in the performance of this position's responsibilities.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Data Entry: Proficient in data entry for accurate reporting.
  • Petrochemical Test: Knowledge of wet chemistry and laboratory techniques for petrochemical testing.
  • Sampling & Analysis: Experience in sample collection, preparation, and analysis.
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance on lab instrumentation.
  • Chemical And Physical Analysis: Strong understanding of chemical and physical analysis methods.
  • Shipping Champion: Knowledge of shipping procedures for samples.
  • Clean Sampling Containers: Attention to detail in maintaining clean sampling containers.
  • Training: Willingness to learn and participate in training programs.
  • Reporting: Ability to accurately report data and observations.
  • Safety Conscience: Committed to following safety protocols in the laboratory.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 2 year diploma in Chemical Technology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory experience in the petroleum industry.
  • 2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Experience in quality control systems.
