Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for an Inspection Advisor to join their team on a 1-year contract in Sarnia, ON.
CONTRACTOR STEWARDSHIP:
Build and maintain relationships with contractors, fabricators, and equipment vendors involved in SO2 Reduction Projects. Ensure they adhere to the quality inspection program and meet all specified requirements.
- Review fabrication and Vendor ITPs, weld procedures, NDE procedures, quality manuals, etc.
- Conduct vendor drawing reviews for piping, towers, drums, exchangers, steel modules, etc. Knowledge of Aconex is a bonus but not required.
- Witness hydrotests at fabricator shops and at our refineries (if needed).
- Identify defects or deviations from requirements during inspections and report them accordingly.
- Visit shops to witness hold points during fabrication and sign-off (arrange/interface with other local EM inspectors as required if travel is not ideal) to ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
- Write reports summarizing findings and observations at the respective fabrication shops.
- Work closely with the Sarnia teams, including the project's QA/QC lead and site FLS, to ensure readiness to receive modules onsite (e.g., crane prep).
- Ensure the quality of newly fabricated equipment meets industry and company standards.
- Help troubleshoot inspection-related issues as they arise during the project.
- Review final Inspection Release Notices (IRN) before the ship release of modules and equipment.
- Assist project engineers and the project QA/QC lead in identifying and resolving problems and potential or actual non-conformances.
- Liaise and coordinate with the Sarnia Inspector as required for fabrication and other inspection activities.
- Monitor the closeout of punch lists established for incomplete activities.
- Implement the Construction Surveillance Program.
- Monitor, liaison, implement compliance of regulatory & statutory quality requirements.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience on a closely related position
- Experience executing project quality assurance activities
- Experience in the Oil & Gas Industry applying quality requirements and principles
- Willing and able to business travel to Project Sites to provide various levels of support.
- Should possess one of the following certifications: CWB Level 2, API 510, or API 570
