Our client, a well-established law firm located in downtown Toronto, is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Legal Assistant to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, draft, and revise legal documents, including agreements of purchase and sale, leases, and closing documents.
- Assist lawyers with all aspects of real estate transactions, including due diligence, title searches, and closings.
- Open, maintain, and close client files in accordance with firm procedures.
- Communicate with clients, realtors, lenders, municipal offices, and title insurance companies.
- Monitor and manage critical dates and transaction timelines.
- Coordinate document registration and filings with Teraview and other online systems.
- Manage trust accounts and handle billing, time entry, and docketing.
- Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a legal assistant in Commercial Real Estate law, preferably in a law firm setting.
- Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma/certificate from a recognized institution.
- Strong knowledge of Teraview, title search procedures, and real estate closing processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office and legal practice management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.
- Professional, client-focused attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
