Role Summary
Objective of Position
We are seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to lead our building products manufacturing sales team. The preferred candidate will have a strong background in sales within the building materials industry, ideally with experience selling to the retail lumber industry. The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, cultivating relationships with key clients, and delivering revenue growth within the dealer network of the company.
This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a proven track record of driving sales growth through dealer channels.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth within the dealer channel
- Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts including at the National Head Office level.
- Coordinate with company executives to determine the best sales strategies and market priorities.
- Analyze regional market trends and discover new opportunities for growth.
- Attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events to network and build relationships.
- Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting and set performance goals accordingly.
- Directly and in-directly coaching a team of up to 8 Dealer Channel Representatives across Western Canada.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports.
- Analyze sales data and performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness of sales strategies and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop promotional campaigns and marketing materials for dealer channel.
Experience / Capabilities:
- Strong understanding of sales techniques, customer relationship management, and dealership operations
- Experience leading a high-performance B2B sales team.
- Able to balance Business Development and Account Management demands.
- An ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics.
- Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills.
- Strong communication and team management/coaching skills.
- Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude.
- Availability to travel as needed.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset
Education:
- A bachelor's degree or a comparable level of extensive experience will be taken into consideration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce
Working Conditions
- Operate primarily in an office environment.
- Pressure to produce tangible results and complete projects within tight timelines.
- Routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
- Intermittent travel is required to support the department, attend meetings and training sessions.
- Due to nature of the work, requires a flexible schedule, occasional weekend work and last-minute notification to attend meetings depending on emergencies or business demands.
- Lifting and/or carrying anywhere from 0llbs to 20llbs.
