The Role
This Toronto-based role will focus on institutional capital raising within the private equity real estate sector. Reporting directly to the Head of Canadian Institutional Investments, the Vice President, Institutional Sales will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategies that drive engagement with institutional clients while contributing to broader corporate objectives. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic growth of a well-established organization with over 1 billion CAD in Assets Under Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Relationship Development
: Design and implement strategies to engage institutional prospects, identifying key decision-makers and effectively positioning the firm's offerings.
- Capital Raising
: Lead initiatives targeting institutional investors, presenting opportunities and closing transactions.
- Client Engagement
: Build and maintain long-term relationships with pension plans, endowments, foundations, family offices, and other institutional clients.
- Collaboration
: Work closely with senior management to align capital-raising strategies with overall business goals.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will bring:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in institutional sales within asset management or investment consulting.
- Established relationships with institutional clients across Canada, particularly in private market strategies (e.g., real estate, private credit, infrastructure).
- A proven track record of achieving capital-raising targets and building enduring client relationships.
- Strong knowledge of alternative investment strategies and institutional client challenges.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and business development skills.
Qualifications
- A relevant undergraduate degree; CAIA or CFA designation preferred.
- Expertise in private equity real estate or alternative investments is highly desirable.
