We're Hiring: President - Beer Canada

Location: Toronto, ON

Reports to: Board of Directors

Beer Canada is seeking a dynamic and strategic President to lead the national voice of Canadian brewers and consumers. Based in Toronto, this is a high-impact executive role at the intersection of government relations, policy advocacy, and industry leadership.

Beer Canada has a decades long proven track record of successful advocacy for the creation of a positive operating environment for Canadian brewers including taxation, regulation and responsible sale & distribution. We work with governments of all levels, media, regulators, and stakeholders across the country.

Your Impact

As President, you will serve as the organization's key spokesperson and strategic driver. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading advocacy efforts across federal, provincial, and municipal governments
  • Building trusted relationships with elected officials, civil service, media, and industry partners
  • Shaping public policy on alcohol taxation, retail and distribution systems, environmental regulation, alcohol harm reduction and trade
  • Driving internal strategy, operations, governance, and team leadership
  • Managing a diverse and highly skilled national team, including direct reports across regions and functional areas

What You Bring

  • 10+ years in public affairs, government relations, or association leadership
  • Demonstrated success influencing complex, high-level policy and regulatory environments
  • A confident communicator-bilingual in English and French-comfortable as both a strategist and public spokesperson-Strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of government processes and political dynamics
  • Experience in regulated or consumer-facing industries (alcohol, health, food, etc.) is an asset
  • A collaborative, action-oriented leadership style with strong business acumen

In Your First 6 Months

  • Build strong relationships with the Board, staff, and key stakeholders
  • Assess and optimize the current business plan and organizational structure
  • Deliver early wins on key industry issues
  • Gain a deep understanding of member needs and industry economics
