Our client, a local pension office, is seeking a highly motivated Administrative Assistant, Pension and Benefits to bring their exceptional customer service skills to the table. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service via phone and in-person, responding to member inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Assist members with pension and benefits-related queries, ensuring timely and accurate information
- Manage administrative tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, monthly Sage reconciliation, and pension contribution/payout reviews
- Liaise with investment managers, draft letters of direction, and oversee investment activities
- Prepare and submit annual filings and regulatory reports to relevant authorities (CRA, OSFI, FSRA)
- Perform day-to-day operations for two pension plans, ensuring smooth plan administration
- Develop knowledge of pension plan procedures and take on additional responsibilities as expertise grows
- Respond to member inquiries, review and update member information, and maintain accurate records
- Perform file maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with organizational standards
- Other duties as assigned
Credentials:
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience as an Administrative Assistant / Accounting Clerk
- Excellent written and oral communication in English
- Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with accounting software (Sage or QuickBooks)
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Completion of an Accounting Diploma considered an asset
- Previous experience with investments considered an asset

The wage for this position ranges from $30.22 to $32.97 per hour based on experience.
Hours: Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 4:00pm - Flexible between 7:00am and 5:00pm (35 hours per week)
