Our employer, a Jewish non-profit organization, is seeking to hire a Design and Communication Manager.
POSITION SUMMARY
- The Design & Communication Manager plays a key role in managing and strategically planning marketing and communications. They provide expertise and insights and leads marketing related projects in support of the organization's mission and growth.
- This role works closely with senior leadership to guide decisions related to internal and external communications, marketing, design, and key messaging, demonstrating a strong understanding of the non-profit sector.
- They are responsible for designing and producing all internal and external communication materials for North America, targeting partners, stakeholders, and an international team.
- This is a remote position. The candidate must have a quiet, dedicated workspace and be available online Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Occasional meetings in the Greater Toronto Area, as well as evening and weekend work, may be required.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Graphic Design
The Design & Communication Manager must be a skilled graphic designer with experience in creating and producing digital and print materials. This includes PowerPoint presentations, digital and print proposals, marketing brochures, event collateral, online fundraising pages, digital assets, and other materials as needed.
Internal and External Communications
The manager will develop engaging written content, such as newsletters, presentations, proposals, reports, and targeted marketing materials. These materials will support all internal communications and external outreach to the philanthropic community with a focus on major gift giving and the nonprofit sector.
Technology
The candidate must be technologically adept and enthusiastic about learning new platforms. High proficiency with design tools is required, along with a working knowledge of web design and online marketing tools. Staying current with the latest digital technologies and design trends is essential.
Project Management
The Design & Communication Manager will lead and coordinate cross-functional projects, ensuring successful execution. Responsibilities include gathering relevant information and feedback, creating clear project outlines and ensuring timely delivery, identifying necessary technology and resources, and holding stakeholders accountable throughout the process.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in graphic design and communications, preferably within the nonprofit or social impact sector.
- A strong design portfolio that demonstrates creativity and strategic visual communication.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing marketing strategies and communication plans.
- Experience crafting internal communications, donor materials, proposals, and newsletters, adapting messaging to suit different audiences and platforms.
- Proficiency with ConstantContact, Canva, AdobeSuite, PowerPoint, and other online platforms.
- Experience leading collaborative, cross-functional projects with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail with strong visual and verbal storytelling abilities.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with limited supervision.
- Committed to the values and mission and sensitive to working in a nonprofit/charitable context.
