Our construction client in Ottawa is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to promote a strong safety culture across multiple sites. In this role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring regulatory compliance, minimizing workplace hazards, and supporting a safe and productive environment for all staff and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to Ontario's OHSA, WSIB, and MLITSD standards across all project sites.
- Site Inspections: Conduct regular health and safety audits, hazard assessments, and site visits.
- Policy Development: Support the creation and rollout of site-specific health and safety protocols.
- Training & Orientation: Deliver safety training including WHMIS, Working at Heights, and new hire orientations.
- Incident Response: Investigate injuries, incidents, and near misses, and facilitate corrective action plans.
- Emergency Preparedness: Maintain up-to-date emergency response procedures and organize drills.
- Equipment Oversight: Ensure PPE use and manage stock levels of all required safety gear.
- Collaboration: Work closely with site teams, project managers, and subcontractors to foster a safe workplace culture.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Certified WSIB Joint Health and Safety Committee representative.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a construction-based health and safety role, preferably with multi-site exposure.
- Knowledgeable in OHSA regulations and WSIB legislation.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Comfortable facilitating meetings and delivering safety training.
