Interim Vice President - Compensation

Reports To: Chief Human Resource Officer

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Greater Toronto Area

Hybrid working

Our client is a true Canadian success story. They have grown significantly in the last 2 years through an aggressive acquisition strategy and organic growth. They are looking for an experienced compensation professional to lead a project to build a market leading compensation model for over 300 sites across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the organization's current structure and future growth plans, engage with key stakeholders and build a 3-year compensation strategy and roadmap for implementation.
  • Lead review of current benefits offering and total rewards offering against competitors and propose approach to enhancing total rewards offering.
  • Develop and advise on strategy, plan design, policies, and processes in the areas of compensation ensuring a market competitive offering and compliance with applicable legislation in Canada.
  • Develop compensation strategies, philosophies and programs that address clients' attraction and retention needs.
  • Lead and perform complex analysis and develop approaches for financial modeling to support rewards, budgeting, program development and decision making.
  • Designing financial performance measurement and target-setting systems to support these compensation programs.
  • Develop and manage an effective communication plan to incorporate continuous improvement feedback on the effectiveness of compensation policies.
  • Provide business partnership, subject matter expertise and internal consulting to employees, executives, and the HR Operations Team.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree specializing in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Financial Analysis, or other business-related fields. MBA is an asset.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation an asset.
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive compensation experience within a complex, multi-sited environment.
  • Strong skill in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Teams and database tools (Access, Power BI, etc.)
  • Driven, resourceful, with strong can-do attitude to seek solutions out of ambiguity and deliver results.
  • Demonstrated maturity, resiliency, and adaptability, can thrive in fast paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to span business needs with technical concepts and present compelling point of view with an executive audience.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills with ability to challenge status quo, constantly seek continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation and decision facilitation, report writing and data analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to build impactful relationships, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional planning, project management and change management skills with ability to leverage multiple resources and manage complex projects.
