The ideal candidate will be an experienced INTERNATIONAL HR professional to support operations in North America, based in Calgary, AB.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with labor law, benefits administration, payroll and compliance (including EEO, ACA, and 401(k), RRSP), for both US & Canada

  • Will be supporting the HR leadership team by alleviating administrative burdens
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of HR functions, with a focus on payroll processing backup, compliance, and benefits administration
  • Assist with the daily functions of recruiting, hiring, administering benefits, and PIT compliance.
  • All onboarding, including background checks and employee eligibility verifications, (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to identify areas for process improvement
  • Contribute to HR projects and global HR initiatives
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Lead stakeholder to ensure availability of required supporting documentation for PIT compliance and tracking and ensure the accuracy of information delivered to Accounting for PIT payments.
  • Primary backup for payroll processing, including, verifying timecards, updating work locations, deductions, and updating employee files biweekly and semi-monthly.
  • Administer health and welfare plans, including eligibility, enrollments, changes, inquiries and terminations.
  • Resolve benefits-related problems.
  • Process required documents through insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Reconcile benefits statements and invoicing.
  • Assist employees with benefit claims.
  • Maintain and verify data related to premiums renewals in human resources information systems (HRIS).
  • Assist with annual renewal process and open enrollment.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national and global regulations and applicable employment laws, recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, or related area
  • 6+ years' experience in progressive administration or support positions.
  • International experience must have US experience!
  • Previous hands on payroll processing, compliance, and benefits administration.
  • Ethics and Code of Conduct Awareness.
  • Anti-Bribery and Corruption Awareness.
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification preferred
  • Spanish Speaking a plus!
