They are seeking a Head of Purchasing to lead their procurement team and play a pivotal role in the company's continued growth and success.
This senior leadership position will oversee all purchasing activities, with a primary focus on optimizing the supply chain for materials critical to operations. Key responsibilities will include managing procurement for packaging materials (rigid plastics, spray bottles, blister packs, cardboard boxes, etc.), chemicals, and other components used in high-volume production. The role requires fostering strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring cost-effective sourcing strategies, and maintaining seamless alignment with client demands and retailer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:
- Lead sourcing efforts to identify and secure reliable suppliers for materials and services.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives and market trends.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.
- Conduct regular evaluations and audits to assess supplier performance and compliance.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Manage and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Facilitate training programs to enhance sourcing and negotiation skills within the team.
- Cost Management & Negotiation:
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead initiatives to achieve procurement efficiencies.
- Develop negotiation strategies and lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with operations, finance, and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment of procurement activities with business needs.
- Facilitate cross-functional evaluations of new suppliers and materials.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure procurement activities comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Manage corrective actions for non-conforming materials and address supplier-related disruptions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- 7 - 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in global sourcing, strategic supplier negotiations, and managing procurement operations at scale.
- Industry experience in chemicals, contract manufacturing, or household cleaning products is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in leveraging digital tools, data analytics, and ERP systems to drive procurement efficiency.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with a proven ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Experience managing procurement budgets exceeding $100 million annually.
