Our client is a locally owned and managed real estate development company that specializes in multi-family projects in Metro Vancouver. With in-house development, finance, accounting, construction, sales and marketing departments, they pride themselves on creating a collaborative, team-based culture. They are currently developing a range of mid-to high-density condominium, quadplex and apartment projects and are planning to continue growth and expansion throughout Metro Vancouver. This includes plans to start undertaking construction of multifamily projects on behalf of other developers locally.
The Preconstruction Coordinator is an interesting role that will comprise splitting time between being based in the head office working on conceptual budgets and assisting with design development for upcoming projects, as well as spending time based on site assisting site teams with the build phase of projects. This will include the processing of RFIs and change orders. The role will report directly to the Director of Construction but will also work closely with a Project Manager that is running an active project. This dual role will provide broad exposure to the construction process and an excellent opportunity for professional development.
The ideal candidate is a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator with 3-5 years of local experience and relevant Degree level education. Ideally this experience will be with a General Contractor or Developer/Builder, but we are also open to candidates that have relevant (cost planning) experience from a PQS firm that are keen to diversify their experience. We need someone that is a confident articulate communicator that can interact with people at various levels.
The expected base salary depending on experience is $80,000 - $90,000. The company offers a competitive compensation package, plus benefits, including extended health, vision and dental following successful completion of a probation period. We are also open to considering candidates that have more experience and may be more suited to a role as Preconstruction Manager (salary range would be higher in this instance). The role will offer the opportunity to work with and learn from capable seasoned professionals in a dynamic and engaging environment.
We thank you for your application. We expect interest in this opportunity to be considerable and consequently we can only get back to those with the required skills and experience. All interactions are in the strictest of confidence.
