Our client, a highly regarded personal injury law firm in downtown Toronto, is seeking a motivated Associate Lawyer with 2-5 years of experience to join their litigation team. The firm handles a full range of plaintiff-side personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents, occupiers' liability, long-term disability, and catastrophic claims.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who thrives in advocacy, values client connection, and wants to build a strong litigation practice in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a personal injury caseload from intake to resolution
• Conduct client meetings, assessments, and provide legal advice with empathy and clarity
• Draft pleadings, motion materials, mediation briefs, and pre-trial/trial documentation
• Represent clients at discoveries, mediations, pre-trials, and hearings
• Work closely with medical and liability experts to develop case theory and evidence
• Negotiate settlements and participate in strategic case planning with senior counsel
• Maintain organized files and ensure all litigation deadlines are met
Qualifications
• 2-5 years of experience in plaintiff-side personal injury litigation
• Called to the Ontario Bar and in good standing with the LSO
• Strong understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to manage files independently with mentorship and team support
