What you will do
The Health & Safety Coordinator's primary purpose is to act as a champion of our safety system. This is achieved by maintaining a culture of safety excellence throughout the organization while working collaboratively with all levels of employee. Our behavior-based safety system is at the core of all we do. This includes responsibilities such as:
- Support various field and operations projects on all Miller operating facilities and client sites. There may be times which travel outside of Manitoba will be required as projects are awarded.
- Assist supervisors in investigating workplace incidents and create action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Investigate safety interaction metrics, incident reports, and injury trends to discover training gaps, behavioral modifications and workflow enhancements.
- Assist leadership teams with safety audits to address and close audit findings and other assessment results within the specified timeframe.
- Audit the contractor management system to ensure contractor compliance, safety training and safe work plans requirements are met and completed.
- Be visible in the field to our staff, management and clients.
- Coach, teach and support a collaborative approach to life safety.
- Maintain a working knowledge of safety theory, regulations and company policy.
- Assist with safety training including new employee orientations.
What you will need
Minimum of 3 Years in a similar role is required.
NCSO designation is required.
Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities.
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, COR and ISO 45001.
Self-directed, takes initiative and able to meet deadlines while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Valid Drivers License.
