Your new role

Reporting to the Senior Property Manager, in this role, you will be responsible for the regular and preventative maintenance of a commercial & industrial portfolio. The ideal candidate is a 4th class Power Engineer with prior building maintenance experience on a commercial or industrial facility and enjoys being tenant-facing. The successful candidate will ensure that this portfolio is maintained safely and in an efficient manner. Other responsibilities will include:

• Perform preventative and unscheduled maintenance on all building systems
• Ensure efficient operation of equipment by reviewing system trend logs
• Manage waste, recycling, and hazardous materials (WHMIS)
• Supervise Computerized Building Automation Systems
• Oversee tenant service request responses and resolution
• Conduct risk management inspections and remedial actions
• Assist Property Manager with annual operations and capital budgeting
• Review invoices and expenditures to ensure alignment with budget
• Troubleshoot operational issues, including automation systems
• Maintain knowledge of equipment overrides and automation interlocks
• Stay updated on industry practices, legislative changes, and new technologies
• Assist with capital projects and tenant improvements

What you'll need to succeed

• 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate
• Valid BC Driver's License
• Openness to being on call
• Prior experience working as a Building Operator / Building Engineer on a commercial or industrial property.
