Our client, a leader in Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Trade/Customs Compliance Specialist in their Windsor, Ontario Manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a high level of knowledge about trade and customs documentation needed to efficiently and effectively support the logistics team. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for completing duty drawback related projects, post summary correction and FTA reconciliation for clients.
- Provide management of collecting information, uploading/keying data into software, analyzing, calculating claims and filing with CBP.
- Support any post filing activities which include but are not limited to: KPIs, responding to CF 28/CF 29 forms.
- Ensures timely follow-up with supplier/ customer contacts to obtain necessary documentation which includes but are not limited to, import entry details, payment details, inventory details, export details and bills of material.
- Maintain customer and vendor relationships for compliance purposes.
- Perform as an integral part of the compliance team.
- Participate in meetings and work together as a team to complete projects.
- Utilizing provided software to organize and manage workload internally
- Following the organizational procedures.
- Use analytical skills in problem solving a variety of situations.
- Create reports, assist in drafting compliance processes and work instructions.
- Preparation of USMCA documents, part content forms, LVC for all customers.
- Communicate with suppliers to request their annual USMCA form submissions.
- Maintenance of tariff classifications in CMS - ERP system
- Other related logistic functions as assigned
- Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality, Human Resources policies, and the Employee Handbook
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management/Transportation/ International Business, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years experience in the field
- US Customs broker's license (LCB) and/or CCS designation preferred but not required.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the duty drawback regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools with advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Intermediate keyboarding skills.
- Good research and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skill
- Working knowledge of the Logistics functions more specifically international documentation and bill of materials.
