Location: Wahab Law, 100 Highland Road West, Suite 2, Kitchener, Ontario

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Expected Start Date: April 18, 2025

Salary: $36,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

Wahab Law is a well-respected, full-service law firm based in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo. As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking professional, energetic, and detail-oriented individuals to join our Real Estate team.

We are currently hiring experienced Real Estate Law Clerks for full-time employment. Ideal candidates will have 2-5 years or more of hands-on experience supporting real estate transactions from start to finish in a law firm setting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-5 years of real estate law clerk experience in a Canadian law firm
  • Proficiency in Teraview, Closer, Unity, LDD, FCT, TELUS Assist, and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
  • Adaptability to new tasks, strategies, and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (phone, email, and in-person)
  • Excellent written communication with strong spelling and grammar skills
  • Highly organized, quick learner, and proactive with a positive, professional attitude
  • Advanced post-secondary education is considered an asset

Key Responsbilities:

  • Handle real estate files from start to finish, independently or as part of a team
  • Review Agreements of Purchase and Sale and conduct title and off-title searches
  • Draft legal documents for purchase, sale, and refinance of residential properties
  • Attend client meetings to take instructions and review documents
  • Identify and escalate legal issues to the supervising lawyer
  • Obtain and review title insurance policies and endorsements
  • Collect and organize client information and supporting documentation
  • Prepare and respond to requisitions
  • Maintain and organize files according to firm procedures
  • Assist with administrative duties (client scheduling, bank deposits, reception)
  • Attend closings and complete electronic registration of documents
