Senior Trade Compliance Specialist

About the Opportunity:
We're excited to partner with a leading organization in cutting-edge technology that's currently seeking a Senior Trade Compliance Specialist to strengthen and support their global compliance initiatives. This is a high-impact role for a compliance expert who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs aligned with ITAR, Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and Canadian regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments, internal audits, and investigations to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
- Ensure consistent compliance with Global Affairs Canada's EIPA, U.S. EAR, and ITAR regulations.
- Translate regulatory requirements and company policies into actionable local policies and procedures.
- Deliver training and guidance to onsite teams, acting as the primary point of contact for compliance matters.
- Manage multiple complex compliance files and initiatives independently.
Required Qualifications:
- Fluency in French (spoken and written).
- 5+ years of experience in trade compliance, licensing, or customs regulations.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian export regulations, particularly Global Affairs Canada's EIPA.
- Familiarity with U.S. export regulations (EAR, ITAR).
- Experience supporting Controlled Goods Program requirements.
- Proven ability to manage priorities and work independently in a hybrid environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
- Deep expertise in licensing, jurisdiction, and classification of goods.
- Experience utilizing and leveraging internal compliance resources.
- Strong understanding of U.S. State Department and Department of Commerce compliance requirements.
