Lead Frontend Engineer

4 days per week onsite in Waterloo

DeepRec.ai are thrilled to be hiring for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join a high-growth, stealth-mode AI start-up as part of their new Waterloo hub. This company are currently 12 people, they are heavily backed by a top VC in the tens of millions and headquartered in the Bay Area. They are now building out a team in Waterloo under their Chief Scientist who is highly regarded in the AI space! Their team are mostly folks who are Ex-Google, Ex-Coinbase. Ex-Twitter. They are focussed now on building consumer grade AI applications targeting hundreds of millions of users around the world.

Key Requirements:

• 3-5 years of professional experience as a Frontend Engineer, ideally with a consumer-focused background.
• Proficiency in Node.js and React for frontend development.
• Backend experience with Python is a plus, though this is primarily a frontend role.
• In-person work environment
• Experience working in consumer-oriented companies is highly valued.
• Ability to hit the ground running, contribute as an individual contributor (IC), and thrive in a startup environment.
• Familiarity with agile development processes, sprint planning, and deploying production-ready code.
