Job Title: Facilities Engineer (Field-Based)

Location: Alberta (Fly-In Fly-Out options available)

Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract

Experience Level: Intermediate to Senior (5-10 Years)

Certification Required: Ability to successfully obtain a P.Eng designation with APEGA (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta)

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facilities Engineer to join our team in Alberta. This is a field-based role that plays a critical part in the operation and continuous improvement of our oil and gas facilities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in operations support, understanding of maintenance, engineering design, and project execution, with a demonstrated knowledge in Management of Change (MOC) processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support for day-to-day operations of field facilities.
  • Lead and participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of facility issues.
  • Manage and implement facility modifications through MOC processes.
  • Oversee small to mid-sized projects from concept to execution.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to ensure safe and efficient facility performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Support risk assessments, HAZOPs, and design reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering, OR, other Engineering discipline with demonstrated applicable experience.
  • P.Eng. designation with APEGA, OR, eligible for registration to obtain a P.Eng. designation with APEGA (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta).
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of operations, maintenance, facility design, process design and monitoring/reporting, and project management.
  • Proven experience with Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work in a field-based environment; fly-in fly-out arrangements available for out-of-area candidates.
