As an Occupational Therapist, you will be an integral part of a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers. Hours: 35 per week including one evening (12-8) and approximately one Saturday per month (8-4)

What you'll be doing:

Conduct specialized functional, cognitive and return to work readiness assessments
Plan, develop and coordinate patient care using Occupational Therapy intervention strategies
Collaborate with Interdisciplinary teams
Provide individual treatment to facilitate successful reintegration into the community, including discharge planning, return to school and/or return to work
Provide discharge recommendations as appropriate to referral sources
Responsible for facilitating groups on topics such as discharge planning, activity re-engagement, return to work preparation and planning, goal setting
Responsible for managing and prioritizing individual caseload
Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports as per COTO standards and referral expectations
Participate in program rounds and team meetings
Contribute to program development and program evaluation
Opportunity for supervision of student placements

What we're looking for:

Graduate of a recognized Occupational Therapy Program, required
Member of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, required
Experience working with persons with diagnoses of PTSD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders and various comorbidities.
Experience in facilitating therapeutic groups (DBT or CBT preferred)
Awareness and acknowledgement of the value of using measurement-based care when supporting patients/clients to help guide clinical decision making; experience an asset
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills in interdisciplinary teams, essential
Experience with supporting individuals in discharge planning, including goal setting, creation of daily structure, returning to work, returning to school, etc.
Skill and competencies to quickly establish supportive therapeutic rapport
Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy practice models and current skills with standardized and non- standardized assessment tools related to the determination of occupational issues and functional performance
