We are seeking a passionate WebSphere Administrator to join our growing and dynamic team! This role will be for Cognizant's Infrastructure practice.

What will you do?

  • Enhance availability and performance for WASND, IBM HTTP Server Plugins, and IBM HTTP Server systems.
  • Involved in the full cycle - installation, implementation, upgrading, performance, security, patching, clustering, and monitoring.
  • Administer JDBC, JMS, JNDI, and Node Manager for Managed Servers.
  • Create and manage clusters for High Availability.
  • Handle Windows and/or Linux Sys Admin tasks.
  • Manage Log Files, Thread Dumps, JVM Dumps, and provide RCA.
  • Monitor, analyze, and tune WebSphere environments.
  • Install and configure Apache web servers & Tomcat application servers.
  • Deploy applications in various environments (war, ear, jar, etc.).
  • Support DR exercises in the Middleware environment.
  • Configure JMS/Queue connection factories/Queues/Activation Specifications

Must Have:

  • 7-10 years experience in Middleware Administration with primary skill in WebSphere & Apache webserver.
  • Must have skills- IBM WebSphere App Server admin
  • L2 level Apache Tomcat Administration.
  • Proficiency in URL re-writing, virtual directories, application Pools, etc.
  • Experience in Web services (e.g., SOAP, UDDI, WSDL) and WebSphere performance tuning.
