Job Title: Intermediate Technologist
Location: Vancouver
Work Model: Onsite/Hybrid - Minimum 24 hours in studio, optional 16 hours WFH. Flexible hours with core hours from 9 AM to 3 PM.

Job Synopsis: The Intermediate Technologist will prepare detailed contract documents, including drawings and specifications, under the direction of senior staff within a team environment. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the processes of conceptualization, design, and implementation of buildings, as well as the technological aspects of building design from an engineering and construction perspective.

Key Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain project schedules and work plans
Provide support to design staff during design phases
Assist in the preparation of design drawings
Prepare architectural contract documents following company standards
Conduct on-site verifications of as-built conditions
Create mark-ups and sketches for input into drawings
Prepare documentation for Building Permit applications
Communicate and respond to authorities having jurisdiction
Review and coordinate contract documents from various disciplines (e.g., structural, mechanical, electrical)
Provide support through the contract administration phase
Review shop drawings
Assist with contract administration paperwork
Implement record drawings at project close-out
Work independently on smaller projects with minimal support
Keep supervisor informed of progress and issues as they arise
Provide guidance and leadership to junior staff as appropriate
Pick up/drop off permit applications at applicable authorities when required
Run prints and photocopies as required
Assist in general office duties on occasion
Provide support or assist with various tasks as needed for project or firm success
Job Requirements:
Education, Licenses & Certifications:

Architectural Technology diploma
Engineering Design and Drafting diploma and/or Autodesk Revit training certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution
Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the design/architectural/engineering industry
Training in architectural technology, building technical design, and construction
Knowledge Competencies:

Intermediate understanding of building, fire, and energy codes
Intermediate understanding of design and construction processes
Intermediate understanding of specifications
Intermediate understanding of building materials and installation methods
Intermediate understanding of local authority processes
Intermediate understanding of architectural document preparation and layout
Intermediate understanding of building envelope principles
Intermediate understanding of detailing
Proficient in Autodesk Revit software
