About Potash

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP's CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan's history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.

Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for late 2026. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location

This role will be based out of BHP's corporate office located in Saskatoon but will be regularly scheduled to work at the Jansen Potash site. The associated work schedule will be Monday to Friday. This role is not eligible for accommodation in the site camp.

Purpose

Reporting to the Reliability Superintendent, the Reliability Engineer will manage the ongoing safety and reliability of site-wide equipment ensuring the assets are effectively and efficiently maintained. They will complete maintenance assessments and initiate equipment repairs as needed. They will contribute to the analysis, benchmarking and internal audit of Maintenance function's end-to-end performance and coordinates the identification and implementation of improvement initiatives. They will report and follow up on all defective or failed equipment as required and in a timely manner.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

Ensure the SAP system is maintained and is generating the correct preventative maintenance (PMs) at the optimal frequency
Ensure the critical control verifications, execution tasks, and performance standards are correct, are SAP system generated and allocated to the correct person/work orders
Ensure critical control ownership responsibilities within the BHP Risk space
Actively participate in the BHP Field Leadership program
Be familiar with the BHP Operating System initiatives, especially within the continuous improvement space
Facilitate root cause analysis of chronic equipment failure
Assess newly installed equipment to ensure maintainability
Own and drive the site wide condition monitoring program, reporting, and corrective actions
Coach teams on improved feedback reporting and maintenance practices
Be responsible for managing the Lifecycle management of Fuels, Lubes. Air and Coolant
Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
Manage condition monitoring (Vibration & oil analysis on critical equipment, Infra red analysis on electrical equipment)
Complete Auditing & Reporting (Monthly systems audits, Monthly physical asset & critical BHP owned spares audits, Process Reporting)
Maintain the existing, and creating new Work Strategies in the Availability Workbench (AWB) modelling tool
About You
A recognized bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Structural Engineering
Registered, or eligible to register, with Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).
Relevant experience in equipment reliability
Knowledge and experience for facilitating RCA (Root Cause Analysis) workshops, this includes knowledge of the RCA tools and also demonstrating experience in utilizing these tools and processes.
Practical experience with Condition monitoring programs, ability to interpret condition monitoring report results and development of action plans.
Knowledge and experience for facilitating RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) workshops, this includes knowledge of the RCM tools and also demonstrating experience in utilizing these tools and processes.
